Thanks for purchasing our classic French Onion soup, which is hand made from scratch by slowly caramelizing sliced onions until they achieve a very deep color and flavor. After deglazing with cognac, it is then simmered in broth to develop the perfect taste.
Re-heat instructions:
Thaw the Soup Package - Place the frozen soup package in a pot and completely cover it with cold water. Bring the water to a boil, then turn off the heat.
Transfer Soup to Cooking Pot - Carefully remove the package from the water. Using scissors, cut open the package and pour the soup (which should still be partially frozen) into a clean pot.
Heat the Soup - Warm the soup over low heat. Bring it to a gentle simmer until the soup is hot throughout.
Presentation & serving tips: (requires oven or blowtorch)
Ladle soup into a ramekin
Place a thin slice of bread (preferably French baguette) on top
Sprinkle cheese (preferably gruyere or Emmental... if not available, the more common cheddar/mozzerella is still okay) generously on top
If oven is available, bake ramekin under high heat until cheese is melt & golden brown. If oven is not available, can use blowtorch to melt and brown the cheese.
Can sprinkle with herbs such as parsley or thyme for decoration
